We write to you because we are deeply concerned about the future for advanced biofuels in Europe. We understand that the Council of Ministers is about to decide that there will be no dedicated target for advanced biofuels, but only a 7% cap on food based biofuels.
We have also understood that the remaining 3% can either completely – or almost entirely – be covered by electricity in rail transport (counted 2.5 times towards the target), by electric vehicles counted 5 times) and by bio-diesel based on used cooking oil or animal fat (double counted)… read full article
